jMonkeyPlatform charges on with several major updates

Frankly I haven’t been doing a good enough job keeping the outside world posted on all the major advancements happening here in the jMonkey community. So here’s to a fresh start: Normen Hansen just posted an update for the jMonkeyPlatform’s status and roadmap page. For your convenience, here’s that roadmap again, as of 23. July 2010:

- Simple scene composition (done)

Available in the jMonkeyEngine3 SDK Alpha-1 here.

Alpha 2:
- Material / shader editing (partial)
- Improved scene editor (done)

Beta:
- Terrain / map editing
- Cinematics editor

Please also have a look at the constantly updated Documentation for info on how to use the current jMP builds. This is by no means the final version of how things will be but its some hints for people who want to try around with the current builds.

Highlights

A major shout-out also needs to to our very own Ruth ‘Zathras’, who keeps slipping in new docs right under our noses. Frankly, I’ve never seen alpha software this well documented, so y’all better recognize!
