About Google Summer of Code:
Google Summer of Code is a global program that offers post-secondary student developers ages 18 and older stipends to write code for various open source software projects.
Note: Non-students can still apply to our internal jME SoC event. All students applying for GSoC are automatically considered for jME SoC projects as well.
Please familiarise yourself with the GSoC events and timeline page. Some important dates are:
- 10. – 21. March: We start accepting student (and non-student) applications.
- 9. April: We know how many “Slot allocations” (i.e. $5500 stipends) Google has granted us. (likely 1-3)
- 18. April: All mentors must be signed up and matched with a student (and their respective project).
- 19. May: Work starts.
- 18. August: Work ends.
